(Original recipe makes 4 servings)
Ingredients
4 apples - peeled, and chopped
3/4 cup water
3-4 tbsp brown sugar, or white sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder, or 1 cinnamon stick
1/8 tsp cardamom powder (optional)
Directions:
In a medium pot, combine apples, sugar, water, and cinnamon. Cover, and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat, and cook for 20 minutes, or until completely cooked.
In the end, add lemon juice, and cardamom powder. Turn off the heat.
Use a potato masher, and mash them completely.
After you are done, you are going to have a chunky, and delicious applesauce.

My Notes:
- I used just three tablespoons of brown sugar. If you like to have a sweeter applesauce, add more sugar (I am not a big fan of sugar).
- I used four Golden Delicious apples; you can also use other types of apples.
- If you like to have a smoother applesauce, use a blender to smooth it completely.
- We usually eat it as a snack. Many other people use it as a side dish.
- It also makes a good combination with ice-cream.
